Possible subbs

Habitat: Found in a mown field, by a hedge.
Gills: Dark brown. Hard to tell how it joins to stem. Possibly free.
Stem: White to tan brown.
Cap: Tan brown. Coned with slight dimple at top.
Spore print color: Awaiting print. (I just sneaked a peak.. looks black)
Bruising: No color change
Location: Picked in East Anglia, UK.

Well, ok. thanks for reply. went out picking again with a friend and found some that look a bit more promising. will post some more pics soon. Also found an Amanita Muscaria. :P lol.

yeah, doesn't seem right. I've been finding those all over the place in our area. You got a better camera so we can see some better images? To be honest, I'm not sure the temps are right for them at the moment. too cold. Have you spotted any libs out yet? (cambridgeshire)

hmm. no subbs sadly. it does look like psathyrellas. my only wonderr is, do psthyrellas have an annulus like in pic 3?

Sadly no, went picking a few days ago and found some that looked like libs however turned out they wernt. Have got a nice Amanita sitting on my desk though :P will keep looking for libs though.

the ones that I have placed in the psathyrella sp. that seem to be identical to those above do not have a ring. Collected a few just today actually. black/purple/brown, but not jet black spore print like a group of pan. rickenii that were next to them. (I should let the original poster tell what his spore print is) I hate making 'assumptions' based on poor photos though. Subbedhunter, what can you tell me about temperature ranges for subbs. Will it always be necessary to be warm/hot temps(80+Fahrenheit) where they exist all over the world? Has anything of this nature been confirmed?

The weather around my place has cooled down to about mid 70s in the daytime to 50s at night. The subbs have slowed way down. We got a couple days of rain though and there have been a few popping up here and there but no big flushes. Lots of foes now though.

yeah. the temperature has dropped at lest 20 degrees and rainfall has been coming on and off for the last 36 hours. The subbs are exploding over here in so cal. im gonna post my pickings soon.
