I got an AA #921 pressure cooker and it gets pretty loud.
https://store.wafco.com/ezmerchant/home.nsf enter product # 65
could I attatch this to make it more quiet?
I live in an apt building and you could hear the weight jiggling all the way down the hall. I do not want to bring uneeded attention to myself... so if there is any way I could make my pressure cooker more quiet it will be most appreciated

i would say no, as this is for pressure sterilisers not pressure cooker. That valve looks to be for 22-28 psi!!!!

You're supposed to turn down the heat when you hear the first rattle. In fact, I try to stay ahead of the curve by turning down the heat when the steam first starts to escape from under the weight. If you'll adjust the stove burner so a bit of steam escapes the nozzle, but it doesn't rattle, you'll have about 14.5 psi, and it will be nearly silent. RR

I just bought an AA steam sterilizer on ebay. I thought I bought myself a pressure cooker but had a nice little surprise when it came in the mail. I love it. It is absolutely silent. Also, very easy to maintain pressure.

thanks for the reply RR & everybody else
My stove burners are fairly small... and even the slightest hair width turn it can go from loud rattles to no rattles...
I just hope the .5 psi lower, 14.5 psi will not be that big of a difference and I will not get any contams, which I am pretty close to perfect with innoculations.
I so 15 psi for 90 mins I will try 14.5 psi for 90 mins and keep a close eye on things
thanks

if anyone ever questions you about it..just start rambling about how you love to can fruit.
just go on about jelly until they walk away hehe.
edit** i get 95% success rates as far as contams go using a cheapo 11psi pc.
