flow hoods and blower motors

im in the market to purchase a blower motor for a flow hood im trying to construct. i already have a glove box but the thing is driving me nuts ... too cumbersome. in any case i was hoping some one who had already made one would be so kind as to give me a few i deas. 12"x24" size filter is what ill probably end up using. from people i've talked to and things ive read i heard a 500cfm or higher rated motor is the way to go. i checked grainger.com and it was fairly cluttered with different sorts of machinery. has any one purchased a motor from there? part #'s and prices would be appreciated. as for filters in the size i described i dont think they get much cheaper than approx. $100. currently i've ran into 2 different teks on constructing one and plans or pictures would help alot.

You want a blower that delivers 200 cfm at 1-1.2 in static pressure.

Check out Surplus Center of Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. I have their current catalog and there are 4 full pages of blowers and fans probably 60 percent of which are below 25 bucks. Their toll free number is 1-800-488-3407 I wish they had a website.
