Did you put the cake on the perlite?, this would cause this. Make sure to seperate the two. Are you giving it enough air exchanges?, if not this would cause it. Are they getting light from only ONE direction?, this *could* cause it, but usually just makes deformed shrooms.

What strain are you using, what substrate?, PF doesn't really like birdseed..., but should grow *allright* on it.

Basically, more info needed to make an assesment, but my money goes on air exchanges, or over wet substrate.

its not on perlite...using a fishtank heater in a h202/h20 bath to keep temp and hum. high.

air exchange...hmm..in my setup i guess its limited...i will go find my air pump and fix that issue.

as for the spore strain....its P. Cubes but i have no clue what strain. a friend of mine brought it back for me from amsterdamn last summer.

use perlite, the water bath won't keep it humid enough

its not just a water bath..its a heated water bath...and from what i see on the glass and what the hydrometer tells me...its easily close to 90% or higher humidity at all times.

Are you using tap water? The chlorine in tap water can cause this to happen.

cool...i will change the water to spring or distilled water tonight, yesterday i also added my fishtank bubbler and i am pumping filtered fresh air into the tank...and it seems ot be helping a ton.

my only thing is now the aborts are beginning to turn real fluffy, is that just the mycelium taking over the aborts?
