SHROOMGOD'S STRAW AND HUMIDIFIER TEK'S!! !!!!

For those of you who have read/tried ShroomGod's Straw Tek for bulk growing WITH his humidified tek that he recommends, could someone explain how my friend should hook up the humidified hose to the rubbermaid container that the substrate/straw is in? Does it just hang over the side of the container or what? Or should a hole be drilled in the side of the container and then the hose be put through there? This is the only way that makes sense to me as I think a lid would need to be on the container to keep humidity in and contaminants out, correct? Does this tek work well...it seems that one area of the container would get much humidity and the rest would not, as it's coming out of a small area (end of the hose) instead of being spread out like perlite would do. Does this tek give the container fresh air as well, or just humidity? Thanks a lot.

About straw..my friend has never used this medium before. Is it best to inoculate straw with colonized birdseed, or will brf cakes work as well? Does he simply inoculate birdseed in a jar and then crumble up the colonized cakes and spread them over the straw? What does straw look like when it's colonized? How many cakes are needed to colonize a large amount of straw, say, for a 40 gallon rubbermaid container with 6 inches depth of straw? A dozen cakes or so? Less or more? Then once the straw is colonized, is a substrate layer (50/50+) only used to cover the top of the straw that's in the rubbermaid container, and then it will colonize this casing layer and fruit from there once the cool mist humidified is hooked up? Does this all sound right? Thanks..
