    #7374991 -

I like satyricon, eibon, Celtic frost, Goatwhore.
i like:
Satyricon - Nemesis Divina
Satyricon - The shadowthrone
Satyricon - Volcano

I've heard some of darkthrone, venom and stuff but not enough to make any judgment.

recommend me bands and specific albums, i like the black metal thing especially with a good headbanging groove.

checking out cephalic carnage on myspace sounds like 50% really cool and 50% i don't like much but i'll keep listening, i'm not into much death and grind stuff though.

they roam between black and grind.

I listen to metal for the technical skills more than the violent/angry/dark feel, even though at times I love a really deep demonic snarl line.

I think my favorite strctly black metal song is from Secret Chiefs 3. check these 2 songs out.
Hypostasis of the Archons
Combat for the Angel

I am pretty sure that on both of those songs the drummer from Cephalic Carnage (john Merryman a supreme badass) drums on those tracks.

Dissection - Storm of the Lights Bane, Somberlain

Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse, Anthems to The Welkin at Dusk

Just a few a my favorite black metal albums...good shit.

DSBM??

Also, I would definitely not suggest this to a newcomer, the vocals are/were extremely laughable to me even as an experienced listener of Black Metal.

Heres a song of Silencer, I almost laughed when I heard the singing too, it's definitely different. Sounds more doom metal to me than black metal IMO.

My recommendations:
Burzum - Det Som Engang Var

Weakling - Dead as Dreams
Wolven Ancestry - The Wrath of Gaia
Temnozor - Folkstorm of the Azure Nights
Falkenbach - En Their Medh Riki Fara (hell, just get all of them)
Emperor - Athems to the Welken at Dusk
Immortal - Sons of Northern Darkness
Wolves in the Throne Room - Diadem of the 12 Stars
Ulver - all old albums
Dissection - Storm of the Lights Bane, The Somberlain
Bathory - everything up to and including Hammerheart

And of course the most black metal band of all - Cradle of Filth!!!!11!!1

Actually, sign up at Kerrazy-torrents.net and download anything that says black metal on it. And...(pretend I'm holding up the "Seed or Die" smiley.)
