Curing some Tobacco...
    #7364973 -

So this weekend I headed up to a little farming community two hours north of my home for a family reunion...

My family, for 6 generations has grown Tobacco in the Carolina foothills, this weekend I got an entire 4 foot plant...

Around 7pm I brought it back to where I was staying, cut all the leafs off the main stalk and placed them in a empty cardboard box with holes in it for air...

I let it sit in the box that night and until 2pm today...It was in my girl's hot car the entire time...

When I got home today I washed the leaves and then steamed each of them over boiling water for about 30-45 seconds each...

I rinsed them again and then place them on a table outside to dry...

Tomorrow after class (around 3pm) I'm going to come home...Remove all the stems and veins, chop the tobacco, add honey and vanilla extract, blend it all together, then place them in the oven at 200F for about 30m then remove it and place it in the sun to finish drying...

How does this sound?

I'm looking for a low nicotine, very flavorful, very smooth smoke....

If you chopped up all of your plant (how many leaves) how much tobacco would you get. I.e. : How many rolled cigarettes worth/Cigarettes from a marleboro/kool pack would you get out of it? I'm interested to know if you could make a profit from being a private vendor..

i thought u would steam for 7 days, put in a smokehouse for 7 days, bury in a barrel for 7 days, douse them in vanilla for 7 days, lay them out in the sun for 7 days, blow air at them for 7 days, and then have hens lay eggs on them for 7 days, didnt you have a plan similar to this already teotz, you were telling us all about it a month ago.

im interested to hear what the smoke report is going to turn out to be.

im a relatively light smoker too, one good puff or two every week/two weeks, and one large rustica leaf only lasts me about two sessions.
