I'll stick with not making futile predictions and spare myself from looking foolish just for a chance to look like a genius when it's really just luck.

That would be the ego I was talking about.

Vs.

Me stating its just for fun. Everyone wants to make the right prediction and a lot of people can back up their opinions with actual evidence. Thats why making bets on games is so popular in vegas.

But, I apologize for taking what you said the wrong way. I am not mad either, I just had a pissed off moment because I thought you were belittling everyone for making a prediction.

I never said you were mad.
You also miss the (what I thought was obvious) satire in that. Because that's what predictions are, people trying to boost their egos when they're right even though it's luck, and looking foolish for it when they are almost inevitably wrong (obviously some people will be right.)
I fail to see any of this evidence you speak of, by the way.

If I really cared about my ego when it came to sports I wouldn't be an admitted SU fan.

Denver, of course.

Realistically... Colts vs. Saints.

I wont even bother to change my pick from last year.

Anyone who disagrees is, of course, a fucking jackass.

If they had a QB that could complete passes they might have a shot. But, they dont unless they put in Brian Griese.

Complete a pass? what about just handling a snap.. Rex has fumbled atleast 4 snaps in the preseason. not to mention the passes he completes to the opposing teams.

Broncs is a possibility depending on how Jay Cutler improved from last season. They would definately need some luck to even make it to the AFC Championship, but they are a better pick than your NFC Bears.

bronco's.. thats funny.. sorry but the AFC is wayy to stacked and poise to let Cutler lead his team anywhere. They may make the playoffs but are not even close to the level of the Colts or the Patriots.

lol we think alike.

yeah i didnt even address chicago because thats a joke.. shaun alexander an all-pro RB returns healthy for Seattle, then you have Dallas, Philly, and New Orleans. Chicago has a sick defense but those are 4 of the strongest offenses in football.

EDIT- but yea, Chicago will make the playoffs and have a good record because they play in possibly the worst division in the NFL.

I dont know about that Banez, they beat NE last season and lost to Indi by 3. They can definately compete now that Plummer is out and Cutler is in. I like Jake the Snake but he doesnt have an arm like Cutler.

I guess, I just dont see the weapons at WR.. and then the biggest question mark is Jay Cutler, who knows how he will play now as the starter. maybe he'll get Kurt Warner syndrome.

I just think Peyton and the Colts + Brady and the Pats are 2 of the best teams ive ever seen. and It will come down to those 2 in the AFC Championship.. barring a significan injury.

Javon Walker and Daniel Graham are pretty damn good targets.  Not to mention a almost-healthy Brandon Stokley and a great 2nd year man: Brandon Marshall...

And I don't expect that good of season from the Patriots, actually.

I'm feeling it. Kinda like when I picked the Pats in '02, more of a feeling thing. Football is almost impossible to call due to the fact that every team is pretty much (and yes there have been major exceptions) one play away from disappearing. Imagine the Colts without manning or harrison, San Diego without LT is a whoe l different team. New England to me is who I'm believing will do it, but I'm sensing an injury. Shanahan's system will click and the weak defense will step up big.

Thank you for listening to Mr. Cleo's football picks.

not really, I dont believe football is a one player game like basketball, where 1 player can carry a team.

Yes if Peyton went down the colts would be hurt, not soo much if Harrison went down.

LT, I dont think him being hurt would screw SD, they still have Michael Turner who is extremely underrated and could probably be consistent enough to win.

IMO, it would take a 6+ week injury of the teams QB to stop the Colts or the Pats.
