Re: Mycelium spreading slow; too dry?

I'm pretty new in mushroom growing but i tough that kepping te jar temperature between 80 and 85 F helps the mycelium and a dry cake takes more time to colonize then a wet one...(but kepping them dry helps to prevent contamination) that's what I notice from my past experiences...

Thats a tough ?. I'm not sure about injecting your jars with water at this point (have to look elsewhere for that) It would be more helpfull to know what kind of substrate and tek your using. As long as you have the right temp./humi. readings (84-88F, 95-100%) then you should be alright. I can tell you, I have 10 jars sitting in my chamber. 9 of them are around 30-38% col. and it's been 8 days, the other one has nothing going on at all ( due to the fact I went alittle hard on the syring...i had nothing to give that jar). I'm using the PF TEK. I use a heatlamp set up above the chamber, this does a great job. Humi. I use spray bottle with alittle H2O2. Also I coverd my chamber with plastic wrap. 1 jar was going alittle slow so I unscrewed the lid just slightly. I did this last night, and now I have a spot about the size of a penny that is starting to col. Well I hope some of this can give you some insight on your problem. If not post a ? for Shroom Mage, he has been very helpful for me...also Ryche Hawk. Good Luck
