Alice ate a shroom?

Does anyone know if alice eats a mushroom before falling down the rabbit hole in the Cartoon and/or Film and/or Book Alice in Wonderland? I heard that it was in the book but i dunno about the cartoon and movie.

Everyone knows that, how do you think she shrinks and grows???
It`s in the cartoon and book, that`s an important part of the story.

she eats it after , when its on the little table at the bottom of the whole when shes done falling , she eats it then gets small and crawls through the little door
