Alice In Chains

Does anyone else here love this band? They're my favorite of all those Seattle bands from the early 90's.

Unplugged is the best ever. I have the dvd and play along with it all the time. I saw Jerry Cantrell when he came to town and it was great.

Yes!
They are my second or third favorite band behind the Dead and maybe Tool..
I own and love all of there albums exept the one(s) before Facelift..
Nobody can sing quite like Layne
They are one of the most original bands of all time, and a gem for and guitarist.
Actually listen to there drumming aswell its very strange sometimes
AIC rules!

Ya, I agree that Layne is quite the singer. Much like Maynard, he can sound just as melodic while screaming as he can while singing. Also, I have yet to see a band that uses vocal harmonies as effectively as them, at least not in the past 30 years.

yea thier harmonies rule!! I try to sing the harmony while I drive and it doesn't work too well. No Excuses has a great drum intro. I like the high hats.

Alice in Chains isn't one of my favorite bands but I like them and they did have a very unique sound. Alice in Chains were the darkest band from a place which suddenly produced a bunch of great dark bands.....that's not counting the Melvins of course that goes without saying.

Seeing Jerry Cantrell play Man in a Box, Them Bones and Down in a Hole
back in 2002 was for me an unforgettable experience, but how so so much
better it would have been in Layne hadn't succumed to drugs and showed
the staying power of Jerry.

My sister left one of her Alice In Chains CD's in my room when she went to college. I've listened to it a few times, and I really like it. If I had it at my house now, I'd probably be listening to it.

AIC was the shit...
Their combination of unusual harmonic progression and vocal duo harmonies is so often imitated. But they mastered it. I'd love to see Cantrell live; and alas it is a shame about Layne. Add him to the list that includes Jimi, Janis, Bradley...waay too many to list.
I had unplugged in my CD player for close to 4 months STRAIGHT.... oh man, bout time to break that out again

AIC was one of my favorite bands, I felt like they never got the credit they deserved. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, none of them could match the song writting AIC showed in my opinion, and I really like those bands as well. And Cantrell was the best guitar player in that whole scene, totally subjective but who else could match his solo in "Man in the Box" or write a song like "Whale and Wasp"? IMHO they were the cream of the crop.
