The tenth dimension

The following link is of a video which is one the one hand informative if slightly vague, but ultimately mind boggling. It describes each and every dimension from one, all the way to 10, some being theoretical in nature. But it's done in a very easy to understand timeline, and really is fascinating viewing. I also highly recommend a book called Flatland. Its a fiction story, but at the same time it offers a way to much insight into higher dimensions.

Just not to confuse things, the ten dimensions presented on this site are the author's very own interpretation of them and are a bit at odd with what is understood as dimensions in physics. Around the 8th or 9th dimension he fudges words together to get the count to ten. Probably to appeal to string-theory or M-theory, the latter having eleven dimensions.

Indeed, dimensionality in relativity/quantum/string/M-theory and the likes are understood in terms of geometric dimensions of space/space-time/Hilbert space/etc., which are again at odd with anything expressed in the higher dimensions of the said web site.

Anyhow, the site is still philosophically very interesting and mind boggling :smile:
