PMP: perlite vs. geolite

so after making a few calls it looks like geolite will be my first hard to find item in the world of shrooming. you can also use perlite to my understanding. is there any advantage of using geolite over perlite? or will the perlite be fine? thanks!

Perlite will work fine dude as long as your using it for humidification or wicking purposes

it seams to me that pearlite would do a better job of humidifying, what with more surface are than those big ass clay balls, why do people like geolite better?
