should i use calcium carbonate or hydrated lime???

I'm desperately seeking advice on what to case my wbs and wheat straw with 50/50 plus ....calcium carbonate or hydrated lime or both and in what percents??

What else are you using for casing?
I am hoping you know that you would be using lime as a buffer for peat moss. Do a search on here for the 50/50 casing tek.

yeah i think i understand that but since hydrated lime can be dangerous to mycelium if to much is added and calcium carbonate acts the same as hydrated lime but will last longer shouldn't i use calcium carbonate? and Ive read the 50/50 tek peat and verm but it also says to add hydrated lime but then reading some other posts says to use calcium carbonate.

Don't add too much , Simple as that . :thumbup:

That's what litmus paper's for , lol .

I've tound that starting with 1/2 as much as the 50/50+ TEK says and then checking and adding what's needed is the way to go . :grin:
