China Magic Mushrooms Cultivation

Does anyone have any information on Chinese laws regarding the cultivation and use of magic mushrooms?

In Hong Kong it is illegal, but they are still using the same laws as the British. (Was under British rule for a hundred years)

I need definite answers without hearsay or assumptions.

Private use, not for distribution. I'm hoping that they do not have a classification for the drug.

Location Shanghai, China.

I don't know about Chinese laws, though I am quite interested in the legal status of RCs over there if you happen to know, but unless the relevant Hong Kong laws have been changed since 1997 then I'd expect them to be not illegal to cultivate or pick but only illegal to prepare/consume as this was the UK situation until recently. I wouldn't expect the old UK law to have applied in Hong Kong though as laws there were made by the legislative council & the governor and didn't need to match those laws in force in the UK.

As I see you are in Shanghai I think it'd probably be easier for you to find out than us. Can't you ask the police/your embassy.

I am also not sure of the legal status of mushrooms in china, but I do know that the backward Chinese government will kill people for possession of illegal drugs. They kill people and then harvest their organs for sale.

Be very careful with drugs in China.

the american perception of chinese justice is this: throw a few dissidents in jail to distract people from the rest of the "criminals". Those criminals just got a 9mm to the back of the head.

I don't speak Chinese, nor do I expect that the police or embassy workers would have any idea what magic mushrooms were. Awareness about the presence of drugs in the city is very small. Hardly anyone knows what marijuana is.

Hash is all over though, people yell that they have it right in the street. 'Hashish! Hashish!' In reality, they probably have as much hash as a single Vancouver street, but because no one knows what it is, few use it, so the availability is huge. I have heard they deal in other drugs, but I am not interested in the risks

As for execution, there is no amount of magic mushrooms that they will execute you for. You may be executed for over five kilograms of hashish though, 1kg of heroine, or 50g of cocaine.

The health official was convicted of accepting bribes to allow many drugs and tainted foods to enter the markets of millions of consumers that could face health problems because of it. Make sure that you read the whole story, not simply the bold print.

I am certain that Hong Kong's laws have forbidden magic mushrooms. But these laws do not reflect the rest of China - even their most recent laws are different from the rest of China.

By the way, China is socialist, rather than communist.

China is operated by a communist party. I am pretty sure that its a communist government. Is it difficult to be in China if you don't speak Chinese?

China is ruled by the Chinese Communist Party but has a market economy (where do you think all of our crap comes from). It's just a word.

its still a communist government.... Economies can be run differently from a certain type of government. It's not just a word...

All i am saying is, its a communist country and the laws are probably harsher if busted. Thats all. I don't know how it actually works over there. I am not Chinese and have never been to china. enjoy pursuing this further if you like...

Its not communist. Communism is characterized by a completely government run economy, china has a free (sorta) market. Socialism. Every person in China could very well be a communist, but that dosn't mean that they live in a communist system. Its just a label dude, you've been brainwashed by the US government to assume that all communists are bad and they kill people, its not true so chillax man, some of our most famous Americans were communists.

(Really reminds me of the same fear tactics thrown at drug users)

True communism has never existed, all Marxists have never passed below socialism. True communism cannot exist and has never existed because of many idealogical pillars that are irrational and unrealistic:

Those are just a few reasons that communism isn't really communism but just far left socialism. In theory it all sounds wonderful but in reality it's an unattainable system that sends countries backward in terms of development and culture were the top dogs keep everyone but themselves ``equal´´ in poverty and oppression so they can feast on the bloated carcasses of the masses.

But your really risking allot in a country were small crimes deal maximum retribution from the draconian legal system.

Is it really worth getting stuck in a chinese prison unable to speak the language? It will be a hell hole for you(not that it already isn't for the regular inmates) but being who you are, you'd must likely be the bitch of the bitches if you got incarcerated.

Many people have mentioned that I shouldn't even try because I could get caught and go to jail.

This is exactly what I want to avoid, so that is the reason I have asked if in fact magic mushrooms are illegal to cultivate in China.

The only way you can be sure is to get sight of the relevant law or to get someone who knows it or can translate it to tell you. I'd ask my embassy as they'd presumably have folk who could read Chinese & have access to the legal code. They also have an interest in not having one of their citizens break a foreign law through ignorance.
Alternatively just ask the police what the laws are on growing stuff/prohibited substances etc (or get more specific):they're responsible for enforcing the laws so will presumably know what they are. Or at least be able to find out for you.

I would try to get as specific information as you can. It could be all, some or none of the many different varieties of shrooms are mentioned in statute in China. I'd try to get a translation of any relevant law on it.

A lot of strains come from China. Especially in the mountains.

Mushrooms are huge in this country, but I don't know about magic mushrooms.

Off topic, but some people believe that the original marijuana plant came from China... still grows wild in some parts. Marijuana is illegal. Try walking down the street though... in modern Shanghai, just go for a walk downtown and buy a kabob from a Muslim seller... 'Hashish! Hashish!'.

Most people don't know what it is though, so they're safe.

Temperate  climate with 40 inches of rain, my guess is that the wood loving psilocybes are there. :smile: With 40 inches of rain a year, I'm suprised that someone isn't selling mushroom hunting tours of Shanghai.
