You water more than once a week? I have some Cactus Juice brand cactus fert that I've been using. It's 1-7-6 and doesn't seem to make much difference. I also have Miracle Grow houseplant food 15-30-15 and MG tomato food 18-18-21. Which would you recomend? Where do you get Superthrive? I keep hearing about it but I'v never seen it at any garden stores.

Here are five new pups off of one about five inches tall (had been given a flat top).



The gathering crowd. The one?s still in the plastic pot were recently acquired from a local home deepot. Beer bottle next to the tall one for size.

Thanks PC. I just watered all 4 cacti with MG 15-30-15. I'll let you know when I start to see some results. I remember when you first planted those cuttings. How long was it before you started seeing pup growth?

I am curious what is the deal with the one on top is it just theskin from one planted or is it somekind of wierd san pedro I have never seen a cactus like that before???

He took Pedro cuttings and planted them several different ways to see which would pup the fastest. The pic he showed here is of a cutting that was planted sideways with a portion out of the soil. He made a thread about it in this forum a while ago, I'll post a link if I can find it.

Hmmmm, I think I'll try adding some powdered eggshells to see if they help with new growth.

I don't know about anyone else but i think those nutrient contents are too high for the cactus, and should probably only be done like twice a year or so...

Personally every time i water my cactii which isn't too often for obvious reasons i use water that has a 2 - 7 - 7 fertilizer in it. It's specifically designed for Cactii...

7 drops per Quart of Water.

It's Schultz Bran Cactus with Micronutrients Plus!

It's very good stuff..

err i just started feeding them that..

but you are right they are underfed and underfertilized.. i just started giving them that 2 - 7 - 7 mix about a week after i posted those pics.

They're doing much better now
