i couldn't get into Shpongle, i tried.

I don't think they're that great. i'd take Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, and Orbital over Shpongle anyday.

heh, i realize how dumb i sound after reading this old thread. i respect Shpongle much more after listening to them more and more and appreciating their music.

 Its good you gave them a chance, Posford and Raja are talented. Richard James of Aphex is tight as well, though.

nevermind I just looked at the dates, they sure do jump around the world like crazy. Nowhere near me, unfortunately.

Shpongle IS the best!

Problem is, I've listened to Shpongle SO MANY TIMES that I've almost become sick of hearing it! LOL, it's just that good.

I don't think it's an acquired taste either; first time I heard Shpongle was like a trip in itself to me. I bought all three albums the same day (and that's saying something - it's rare in the extreme that I pay for music - I probably own less than 15 albums legally).

 apparently he has dreadlocks also. he is the shaman of the forest after all.

shpongle is insane, it´s like every time i hear a song i can find something new i hadn´t heard before.

If you guys think Shpongle is great while tripping, checkout Flooting Grooves.  Right on par with Shpongle.  It's one guy and he does both the programming and the flute.

Good choice of Capsula too.  He is amazing.

Then there's Phutureprimitive too.
