Imo, if you have never listened to Shpongle with proper headphones while tripping, you are missing one of the best experiences to be had ever
Shpongle is all about the experience, and some songs are shamanic in nature, meaning they will have intense challenging parts but culminating in joyful/peaceful/euphoric sections and this can be compared to a "facing your demons and reaping the rewards afterwards" process in a shamanic ritual.
My best trips were always while listening to Shpongle. If you are afraid of the challenging parts, then don't use cubes. Other species will make these more dreadful parts like the most fun you have had in years
A good starting point for tripping with Shpongle is the album Tales of the Inexpressible. Soon, you will be best buddies with Simon and Raj on a cosmic level

The music is genius. Speaks to me on so many levels. I love the intense rhythms, the minor keys, the acoustic guitars. Listning while tripping lets you hear soooo much more than you would sober. When peaking, the music interacts with me. It seems like it "knows" where my head is at, and is in perfect sync with my thoughts. One trip, I was feeling that the "regular" part of the music was filling most of my experience, but the "special" parts were somehow floating along the top. Hard to explain, but wonderful. Having experienced Shpongle in that state of awareness, hearing it with a bit of weed brings back associations that take me a step into the psychedelic world when not tripping.

First time I dropped Acid, I was in my car listening to Shpongle ("Dorest Perception") on the come up and I swear the instruments sounded live! The detail was so clear and crisp to my ears. It was beautiful

I have two shpongle albums (Codex VI and Museum of Consciousness) and they have been mostly great as far as tripping goes. Few tracks are a bit too dark or weird but overall things have been very nice to trip with ~ But as whole, those guys know what your mind wants in a trip hahahaha

Totally agree. The track Vapour Rumours is way too strange for me and freaks me out when trippin.
A lot of the tracks on Nothing Lasts...But Nothing is Lost is a little too "crazy" sound to it but there are some really special tracks at the end and in the middle of the album

Haha I have all their albums, and I personally vote the first two albums as hands down best tripping music ever. But yeah with Nothing Lasts, can’t think of the tracks name but every time I’ve listened to that album on mushrooms I always have to turn it off at about track three or four when it starts speeding up. Really freaks me out lol.
Vapour rumours…LC, this is one of my faves lol

Absolutely agree. Although you should really try Ineffable mysteries as well since its a very spiritual experience. Nothing lasts is the most profound/psychedelic imo, but I agree that the tracks Nothing lasts to Nothing is lost have some harsher high frequency sounds. However, if you adjust your eq, this album is something else. There are sounds that appear and then vanish, only to appear later transformed and in a different context. It really gives meaning to the album title.
Oh and the last EP is fantastic as well!Listened to it during my first pans trip and oh boy

Hard to explain, but it feels like I’ve known Simon and Raja all my life having never met them. I listen to ineffable mysteries a lot in the come down. Ive listened to it on the peak, and it was something else.
And on Divine Moments of Truth, when you’re singing that tribal bit (um-pah), it really feels like you’re ‘gurning’ on MDMA lol, it feels amazing lol
I bought some expensive Bluetooth headphones once I got into Shpongle, that really takes it up a level. But they sound amazing over larger speakers too
Mush love DJ Ed

Ahhhh, I have so many memories with the first three albums! I think Tales of the Inexpressible is maybe my favorite of those 3, their newer stuff has some good stuff too. Shpongle is some of the absolute best music for when you are going deep IMO.
I saw Shpongle play, but it was really just a Simon DJ set in the shpongle tron....it was still fun, but it would be cooler to see them with their whole band performance they do. The Shpongle tron is pretty nuts I must say, the video mapping they did on that thing was so well done. I can't remember if I saw v1 or v2.

ah shpongle brings me back to good times long ago i have heard many different meanings to the name and it seems it only has to do with tripping my favorite is the names of the character that you see on the album covers or maybe its that feeling you get right when you start peaking on dmt or lsd it might just be another name for tripping
