Google Radiant Catalytic Ionization, RCI, PHI, Photohydroionization, photo plasma, Photo catalytic oxidation. RCI and PHI are a cell that uses a broad spectrum UV light 100-300nm to burn the air at 100nm creating a small ammount of ozone, then at the same time at 254nm the photocatalytic process breaks down the ozone and moisture in the air to create H2O2, hydroxyl radicals, hydroxyls, peroxides and superoxide ions that are distributed via your HVAC system or via a portable unit. Chaos theory brings the solution to the problem instead of anything HePA that relys on all the air in the room getting through the box, meanwhile the spores don't make it to the box and you end up with a 20% solution. www.ecoquestintl.com

I know there is a bunch or crap on rip off report about EQ but I have COPD and the unit helps me greatly. I can't go outside for long one chemical warning days cuz I can't breathe, but I am fine with the unit running. Plus when I lend outr the unit on jobs periodically the mold in my bathroom starts growing after a week garaunteed. I know it is ironic that I don't just biocide it. I started to but had 6 units so it wasn't necessary...now I have 3 but only one here...so I am gonna finish it this week. Plus the unit destroys the mycotoxins so it wont effect my health anyway...guess that is why I was in no hurry to finish.

Well, I once considered myself too smart to open a contaminated jar, but now I fear I've made another mistake....

Mushroom hunting.
As in, bringing strange mushrooms home, sometimes leaving them sit around for a day or two, hoping to identify. Taking sporeprints.

I've found mold on a couple of them, sprayed some bacterial spray and said a prayer as I disposed of them. Initially, I was tossing them out into a remote corner of the property, but then I noticed some were also growing molds out there at an alarming rate. So, I've started throwing them in the trash in prep for my next oyster grow after a long hiatus.

Is it okay to bring in wild mushrooms at all?

I would consider it a risk but chances are you let more spores in by opening your door to enter the house...so I guess it isn't too big a deal. The idea is to keep your house moisture free...kinda hard when fanning boxes at 90%RH though...dehumidifyers help....but active air still is the best bandaid I have found so far.

Peroxide is a very strong oxidiser ....I would probably drop em in it for a bit if there was a question...will kill the shroom spores too but if you are just eat em who cares

They have RCI for fridges, it stops food from going bad quick. Would be perfect in a tub with an aditional PC fan.

Ya um, I hate to break it to you guys but bleach doesn't kill mold!

That's some great information, regardless, just for the record I think I said "fungicide" and not didn't specifically mention bleach...

Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.

I mentioned bleach. It's cheap, and I'll hope to say soon, very effective. I'm not trying to scrub molds out of my house. I live on the second floor of a modern building; there's not a lot of standing water. What I am concerned about is spores, which were released en masse while I was out drinking. If I'm harboring significant quantities of live molds throughout my house, I have bigger problems than my mushroom crop.

This reminds me of a while back when I emptied the greenhouse without emptying the cool mist and got a yucky film on the water by the time I got to it.I dumped it wiped it down and but a small amount of bleach in it ,filled it up with water and turned,I used a very small amount of bleach and when I came home I swear the whole fugging house never smelled so clean:hehehe:.I bet this sint safe to over due it on but hey I'm guessing it may take care of your problem just be careful not to breath in too much of the stuff,I remember when I was a kid smelling the chlorine tablets from the swimming pool....Cant breathe for a good min or two..Not a good Idea:thumbdown:
