Seattle Capitol Hill Block Party

Holy crappola that was some shitty live music. I can't believe the headliner for it was Spoon, they were horridly boring and repetitive.

I can't remember the name of this one group, they were a Neil Diamond wanna be group, they were pretty fun and nice to listen to.

Aesop Rock (a rapper) was also good, for a little while, then it just got repetitive...

anyone else there?

I went... it wasn't that cool. I wound up just smoking like five blunts in the park and going back and forth between the park and the mexican restaurant down the street. I was thinking about writing up the story of the day, but I really wasn't invested enough to get into it. I was hoping Murder City Devils might make a surprise appearance but no... grrr...

I saw them at vegoose two years back, I actually thought they were good, and I expected them to suck. I generally dislike bands like spoon. But they were entertaining.

I did wind up yelling at a Greenpeace rep and some Ron Paul reps though and those impreachment people at Central... not really yelling at them, just telling them why I thought their causes were stupid. To be fair though it looked like everyone else was having a grand time. I truthfully was so just overwhelmed with the amount of people and the vibe but it was a good vibe and I did meet a lot of people and got some numbers and had a few beers with some English chick who thought I was funny but it was just kind of meh to me...

I didn't want to turn this thread into a Ron Paul debate thread, but I'll just say I'm extremely skeptical.

One big thing about the Block Party though is it made me realize how much a square I am and put me in touch with my conservative side. I certainly have been having a Crisis of Culture the last few days.

Last time I was on capitol hill was when the Seattle massacre happened, i think 2 years ago.
