I always love thunderstorms. I bust out the camera when one moves in and shoot pics until I start to get wet.

Enjoy your storm. I wish it was here.

Well, you live in a rainy part of the country, but do you really have "thunderstorms" that often?

In Texas, especially where i live, the changes in heat, and the large open plains, can cause some pretty magnificent storms. The beauty is immense, and the power of the storms is "sublime", destructive and terrifying, but yet so unbelieviably, and in describably beautiful.

The cloud formations, the colors in the whips of the clouds, and the surge of the thunder, the light in the towering clouds... The energy is everywhere.

yeah there's usually not thunderstorms here, pretty mild weather.  just a steady rain with no wind, usually.

but this spring theres been a few thunderstorms!

Whenever I go to the midwest to visit family, I get all worked up over the thunderstorms, I get sooo excited.  Something in the air just gets me all edgy--but in a good way.  I was brought up a sky watcher and was convinced I was going to be a meterologist most of my childhood.  Twister was my favorite movie!!!

so yeah, it's been exciting to hear all this thunder, I miss it!

It is raining here, but no lightening. It has rained for two days and is supposed to rain for the remainder of the week. :sad:It makes me lazy and want to sleep all the time.

but the rain is soooo peaceful.  I love a nice steady rain!

I  like to jog in the rain, and I like to have the windows open in my apartment so I can hear the pitter patter of it on the leaves of the trees.

At night I love to fall asleep to it.

Plus, it makes the fungus grow!

 rain

Speaking of thunder and lightening, the other day I was headed from the hills of SC back to the WNC Mtns., when the worst storm(besides Hurricane Andrew) that I ever been through decides to let loose. My damn wipers quit right on the steepest interstate incline. I sat with my blinkers on for hours not a cop stopped, thank god cause I would have just been paranoid cause I was trippin, anyway I enjoyed the lightening show for sure, awesome. I found out it was a damn fuse and I could have been on my way in 2 minutes. Oh well, something wanted me to endulge on the spectacular lightening show, so there I sat all night in awe.

Ahh. I am about to lay down and doze off to the sound of it and my fan. Good night, Pub and Shroomery!

Luckly I got to my destination in Bremerton, just before the downpour the other day! I had to run out to my car to get the beer and I was literally soaked when I got back inside.
