The books are more detailled. EVERYTHING gets explained, no wonder writing out the plots of the books took her only a year.

One movie I thought better as the book but it was adapted to our time : Bram Stoker's Dracula.

LIAR! only the werewolf vs. vampire movie "underworld" depicts a true version of the vampire's love life. it's based on real facts and people, like harry potter.

the books are much much better.

i saw the new movie and was somewhat disappointed. up until now the movies have been great, but this one was sorta lacking, imo.

i recommend reading the books, they are very good. i remember being apprehensive about reading the books because i thought they would be totally childish, but i really got into them. they go into WAY more detail than the movies do (as it is with just about all book to film), especially The Order of the Phoenix. there was a lot of stuff left out and changed around in the movie, which i guess is what disappointed me. it was still a good film, but the book was 100x better as far as i'm concerned.

that's interesting that you say you liked all the other films but not this one. a lot of people i know who've watched the movies say this was among their favorites.

i personally can't bring myself to watch them. i watched part of the 2nd and everything was all wrong. not the way i saw things in my head and that pissed me off, so i couldn't watch the others.

Where I found the movies particularly lacking was in dealing with Hogwarts. There was so much more about the building itself, the ghosts and the pictures. The school itself was a character in the books that you barely notice in the movies. Some of the places the kids ended up in was because the school (stairs or other things) led or chased them there.

I can honestly say that Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire was the worst movie I've ever seen in my life.

I have a feeling the last two movies (assuming the 7th movie will be made) will just continue to get worse

I was not a fan of the fifth movie, i felt they left FAR too much out, skipped around with things a tad too much as well. Had one not read the books, they would be missing out on so much of the story line, it's not even funny and i think since the 6th book is even more complex than the 5th book, the 6th movie shall suck just as bad

The movies will always fail in comparison to the books. Mainly because the books are quite long, far to long to squeeze into a two and a half hour movie. As far as the movies go though, I must say that the fifth movie was by far the best, but that isn't really saying much. Read the books, they are seriously amazing. They go into WAY more detail and you will see everything much clearer.
