SKATEBOARDING is fuckin tight

SO, when i was in the 6th grade, pretty much all i did was skateboard with this really good friend i used to have, like all day everyday as soon as the sun was up we were out and didnt come home until the sun had been down for a few hours haha. but then during my summer going into 7th grade, that friend moved away to miami and i never saw him again. he was the only person i ever skated with so when he left it kinda got boring to me and i kinda just stopped and started geting into bball again. well quite a few years have passed and a few months back recently a friend of mine had got back into skateboarding and he would alwyas ask me to come skate with him because he knew about me being a skater when i was younger, but i was always telling him i didnt want to becase i would always hoop. well about 3 weeks ago or so, i decided to pick up my board and just go outside and see if i could still do tricks i used to be able to do, and i actually was still able to, and MORE!

i think that from all the basketball i played over my years have strengthened my legs so i can manipulate the board better, hence, being able to do better more advanced tricks. so ever sine then i've been skating ever day and i fucking love it. i love the feeling i get when i do tricks and shit at the skatepark and i love the feeling of like, creating with a piece of wood and 4 wheels. i have even learned a bunch of new tricks within these three weeks. i learned how to Tre(360) flip, backside 18o flip, disaster on a bowl, double kickflip, nollie varial flip, and i can almost frontside flip. and as far as grinds i learned how to crooked grind, noseslid and 50-50 down a pyramid box and ollie over a pyramid box. i even ollied a 9 stari at this skatepark in front of hella people that never really saw me skate befor.


I guess im just saying that i have re-developed my passion for skating and its dope. i also LOVE the feeling of landing a trick that you try like 10 20 30 sometimes 40+ times and finally get it and also landing a certain trick for your first time.



I HOOP, I FREESTYLE RAP, and now.....I SKATEBOARD! and im good at all of them!

I did the whole skating thing back in middle school too. I sucked, horribly. I was lucky to land a kickflip and I could never grind. I think it was because I'm just too tall and clumsy to skate. I'm sure the fact that I was wearing size 13 shoes in middle school didn't help matters.

I wish I would have stuck with blading though, I think there was potential there. My biggest problem was I just didn't have good teachers for any of that shit. I probably could have gotten really good at freestyle BMXing, but I just didn't have anyone to teach me. Balls.

Still have the skates (and they fit!) and the bike... I'd definitely take it up again if I had someone to teach me and a place to do it(If I was on a bike in my city, someone would probably rob me for it).

Even if you suck at skateboarding you can always make money from thrasher videos.

I used to be pretty hardcore into skating. I could land billions of flatground tricks and a few good ones on a box/rail. Never hit many sets or drops due to weak ankles and stopped skating to gain weight...

Now that I'm more physically fit and a lot larger, I don't have any time to skate!! Sucks the big one. I just watched a skate vid for the first time in a while, and whenever I pass a nice set, rail or ledge, I ALWAYS think of tricks in my head. Every day!!

Hah.. I recently started skating again myself.. I used to suck at skating but I've 'figured it out' :grin:

I learned to varial kickflip, fakie varial kickflip and bs 180 kickflip yesterday .. all clean as fuck too :grin:

anyone here ever tried skating on shrooms?

i did it last night couldn't stop landing every single trick i tried it was great i just felt this connection with my board ive never felt before.  shortly after that my friend let me use his longboard and that was just as magical:grin:

I haven't skated ON shrooms, but I love skating on a mushroom come down. You're there enough to still feel the mushrooms but have excellent psycho motor skills. It's fucking FANTASTIC. One of my best memories ever was bonding with my bro and skating after my first experience with mushies :heart:

BTW, it's all about the style too. I ripped all my tricks with style. My bro was notorious for having the flashiest style in town, and I was getting there too. He just had wicked frontside flips as well.

I remember when I caught onto hardflips and could land them every time. My bro flipped a hardflip indy on flat ground, and I went up behind him and did it right after hahahah. Amazing to land such an obscure trick the first time ever trying it.

I love popping TIGHT 360 flips going fast too. Nice kickflips that are all boned out look really stylish if you're just riding down the street and dinking around. I used to love just mastering the basics and ripping down the road REALLY fast and doing tricks. People on the road would look at me and be like "nice, fuck yeah!!" and I felt like a pimp.

I skateboarded for 6 years before I ruined my ankle.. well it's been a while, and I happened to notice that there is a public city skatepark -literally- next door to my new apartments.. so when I move in, I am gonna get another skateboard. :smile: I can't ever give it up.

I enjoy skating alone just as much as with people. It feels almost like a form of meditation when you're just skating alone, very calming.

I still skate, I dont rip as I used to because injuries, but I skate probably 5 days a week, and most of it is downhill. I need to get me a new smaller board, but I am deciding if I want a normal skateboard, or a tiny one with huge wheels. Maybe a bigger longboard for carving.

Dude I can feel the stoke coming through in that paragraph.  I skate too and I know exactly where you're coming from.  My true passion is surfing but during the flat summer months you'll find me at glendale skate park or the DIY pedro park.  The feeling of stomping down a perfectly executed trick that you've been working on is ... utter perfection. 

I'm not into flip tricks these days--I used to do 180 flips and I've landed a handful of tres, but that was back in junior high.  Now I mostly skate pools with the old rippers and flow like that.  Whatever gets you amped :smile:
