Funny guy at the skatepark yesterday.

Yesterday i was at the skatepark.  And there was this guy who was atleast 45+...he was bald and had grey/white hair. 

He was skating mostly the bowl and mostly carving around in it, it's a nice bowl that has flow so you can keep going around the different parts of it.  And he was clearly very very high.  He looked really burnt out, but he was a very mellow guy and nice. 

He said sooo much funny shit throught out the day.  I didn't hear much of what he said cause i wasn't by him much but he was talking to this 10 year old kid saying "carving feels so good, you know what i mean, you can feel it, it's great"

another time a little kid was skateboarding in the bowl and he starts screaming "RIGHT ON BROTHER!  Your young and awesome, YEAH!" and then he started rambling about his older brother.


BUt if something would fall in the bowl like a skateboard or once a soda bottle, he would completely flip out and start yelling.  When the soda bottle fell in the bowl (when no one was skating in it) he was like "COME ON YOU GUYS?! WHat the hell, that would kill somebody in a second!" and kept going on about it. 

But once my skateboard fell in the bowl right in front of him and i ran in there and got it and got out.  I was the only one who didn't get yelled at :smile:


It was just really funny, i guess you had to experience him to understand it bettter...so sorry for posting this and wasting your time :sun:

he definately was high...but he was acting as if he was tripping. I walked near him and checked out his pupils but they weren't dialated or anything.


I wish i could remember more of the stuff he said, he said so much hilarious random stuff.


Out of no one he started talking about a sargent or something when no one was even near him. He started talking all loud about it to this kid like 15 feet away from him.

I love older skaters, people from all walks of life. People who stick with skateboarding until they're older are generally NOT dumb little fucks like anyone who skates under 20, etc...

It's gnarly, I've met the coolest people when I used to skate hard. Once the weather isn't so hot, I'm gonna hit up the parks and just meet people like back in the day. Sweet story. I've met some absolutely hilarious people in my time too, I love it. :smile:

yeah...there are so many pre-teen/young teen kids who are so full of themselves and do stupid shit cause they think they are cool. Kid's will destroy stuff for no reason, which re-inforces any bad images people have on skateboarding. This kid who was like 12 was trying to grind on the back of a car, i told him to stop because he's gonna fuck up some strangers car.

Older skaters are so much more chill and stuff.

But i've met a lot of really young skaters who are really good at skateboarding, some act really stupid but some are cool.


WSS- No, i haven't been there in atleast 2 years, i hear mixed opinions about the new setups they get. I wanna check it out though sometime, but it's ALWAYS crowded like crazy there, especially with the little kids who just get in the way. I'm talking about the Brookfield skatepark...in wirth park. If you haven't been there just go west down north ave. until wirth park (by some train tracks that cross the road) and its in back by the pool. Unless you are farther west down from there. I live east of it.
