Funny, I was just about to tell OLF that it is imperative my kitchen is big enough for me to cook for everybody.

I'll make you a sandwich anytime.

My new kitchen is biiiiig - lots of space for people to mill about and keep the cook company if he or she desired. And a really long counter/bar with a bunch of storage space underneath it. Really quite nice - brand new tile floor too.

Yep - the singer and drummer for a local band, they're cool guys. One of them is a preschool teacher, the other just smokes a bunch of pot and writes music all day. I'm hoping the creativity rubs off on me and motivates me.

Seriously. Do you ever write stories? I have such a problem with the whole idea of writing a story. I'm usually just a mediocre poet.

I have tons of poetry but I haven't actually dabbled in writing poetry for a long time. I posted some here I'm much more interested in fiction and non-fiction related to drug experiences. But it has been a long time since I started a story. I am full of half-finished and half-fleshed-out ideas. My best writing in recent days was my travel blog from when I went to Europe.

That was pretty awesome, randall.

I'm thinking about writing a story about opening a door. It might be boring to read, but at least it will have an event. Most of my writing is rambling philosophical thoughts with no real beginning or end.

I have started a novel, however. The working title is 'On Smoking.' It might take me my entire life to finish.

Have you ever read "On Love"? I think I might read it again soon, whilst slamming my head into a wall.

I love things titled "On _______" like On Liberty...

Hmmm, who's 'On Love' by? 'On Liberty' is pretty fantastic. I read it in first year, and I just bought a used copy so that I can try to get a little more from it.

It's by Alain de Botton.

Next time you are in town, we should get some of the nyc shroomerites together and go for a ride on this amazing old wooden sailboat that leaves from the World Financial Center. It's like $50, but totally worth it and at least you aren't spending any money during the 2 hours you're on the boat.

Sounds cool.   Nice to meet you Champ.

"Alain de Botton is the kind of public intellectual our debased culture deserves. This prince of précis, this queen of quotation, pastes together entire books by citing and then restating in inferior prose the ideas of great writers from centuries gone by. Aping the forms of philosophical thought in tones of complacent condescension, he provides for his readers the comforting sensation of reading something profound at little cost of mental effort." - Steven Poole, The Guardian (27/3/2004)

I'm not sure if I'll be picking this one up any time soon, actually.
