Pink oyster question???

I bought my spores from mushymart. I actually think I got a LC but that was cool with me. I got the syringe in a bag that looked like a ziploc bag that was sealed with a sanisealer. Like a vacuum sealer but without the vacuum. The needle was on the end of the syringe already and the sheath was on it. But the needle was a little "bent" looking. Like where it connects it looks a little off. Well. I flame sterilized and alcoholed everything. Wore gloves all that. Tyvek overalls with hood. all that.

Well it has been about a week and I am starting to see little fuzzies growing on the grain. This is my first time growing anything....well I read that this variety is damn disease resistant.

Well today the fuzzies are more prevalent and I notice that they are a little off colored. They aren't white like I expected. Can there be some variance? Does it have to be white? I will try to take a pic of it and post it if I can figure that out.

Oyster can look fairly fuzzy at first. Give it a week and post another pic.

What is it. In the jar of BRF in a pint jar. It looks like it has taken off and gone crazy. It looks white and cottony. The bag of rye junk has a layer of green on top. Well blueish green. Like a bread mold. My first question is....
  • Is it ok
  • Would it be ok if I scrapped the top layer off taking a little extra with it and try fruiting it. (they are pink oysters.)
  • What can I do with the jar of BRF pink oysters.

Yeah but that is most of my stuff.... I only have 1 tiny jar of the other left.... that isn't contaminated.... Can I take the jar of BRF and put it into more Brf and get more that way. And I am assuming then that you think it is contaminated... I guess I will toss the bag then.... :frown:

Oh well though. I injected some into a jar of BRF and verm. It has gone crazy and I am sure there are no contams. It hasn't engulfed the whole jar yet.... but the myc is looking pretty fuzzy in spots. Almost looks like it might be starting to knot.

I only have the 1 pint jar that is showing signs of no contams. What is the best way to get the most fruit out of it? Could I use some straw and break the BRF up? What's the verdict shroomery.org?
