anyone else do the one man band thing?
    #7198654 -

I'm doing it right now, recording my guitar parts over programmed drums using BFD(great sounding drum plugin), looking for a good synth to record bass or will get a bass when i can afford it.

I think I'm going to try and record some singing stuff and just keep doing it until i get good(i hope).

I'm only doing it because i can't find any drummers, bassists or singers, it sucks.
I can't sit back and not make music so i have to do it this way.

I'm recording stuff like corrosion of conformity, sabbath, high on fire.

It's fun but sometimes it's hard because it's just one person contributing to the song.

Right on! I've been working the one man band angle for years now. Took some time off on a brief stint with a drummer and a very talented bassist with whom I instantly clicked with.

Here's a tip. To record a bass track, just use your guitar. Then with whatever editing program you're using, lower it an octave and you have your bass track. It doesn't sound quite as cool as a real bass would but it has gotten me by.

In the beginning, all my stuff sucked. There were great ideas, only the recordings were shoddy. Of course I got better with time, learned new tricks and got new gear. I've been doing this for 5 or 6 years now, let me know if you want to hear any of my work.

One man bands can even be successful national touring acts, re: Keller Williams

ya I do it as well, my stuff is like psychedelic metal (also instrumental).

Kinda weird, it's probably been done before but its fun making music like that, I enjoy to listen to it under the influence.

Id like to hear some tunes if anyone puts up a link.

And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand.":mushroom2::mushroom2::mushroom2:
