would calcium hydroxide work to correct calcium def?
    #7188685 -

its edible lime, or hydrated lime.

i have 20 grams of it, and would like to use it to fix a calcium def one of my plants is showing!

say 1teaspoon to a gallon of water?

would this work?

If just one plant is showing the cal deficiency are you sure that is what the problem is?

i already mixed 1/2 tsp to a gallon a fed her.

from what i know, when u get a mag def right before a cal def, its a cal def that threw the mag off. am i correct? i just had a mag def, and just added epsom with my last 0-10-10 of fish ferts that i feed right after mixing, so acidity might have been a problem too.

should I flush?

I'm using organics by the way, earth juice: grow & bloom.
just got a bottle of molasses too

i have a water pH kit, the water i use has a pH of over 8, im not using dolomite so i know the soils unstable.
can i use this test kit to test the pH of my soil if i test the water that drains out of the bottom of the pot?

the def hasnt gotten bad yet, its in early stages and only on 4 or 5 leafs out of 60-70 leafs. affecting only the middle of the plant so far. the mag was affecting the lower and newer leafs.

this plant was also vegged for about 5 months before it started to flower, and its current condition is just past week two of flower.

any tips?

I don't think so yet. Should you decide to use a 1/4 strength nutrient solution to flush with.

pretty much it's not the most accurate but it will let you know what is going on.

i tried the vinegar and baking soda trick, and no effects with either so i know my soil hasnt swung too far in a bad direction.

ill give the runoff a test, thanks.

Notice your using grow and bloom. Did you continue you veg nutrient until after the first stretch? The stretch utilizes a lot of "N".

A pic would very helpful to help diagnose.

its definately a calcium deficiency, regardless of whats causing it.
i know my deficiencies.

no pH spotting so far, and the soil didn't fizz with acid or vinegar, so im chalking it up to lime (yeah, pun intended)

Kudos man. So many times I see PH lock-out confused with regular def.
Then some poor soul starts adding all sorts of crap and compounds the problem.

Mind if I ask what strain your growing?
