Deficiency: Stunted growth, with leaves turning yellow (chlorosis). Entire leaves become chlorotic starting with the the lower foliage.

Deficiency: Leaves dark green and plant stunted (the deepening of color is caused by increased Nitrates in leaves). Yield is reduced. Purplish color, especially older leaves, or reddish purple color on some grasses.

Deficiency: Root system and stems become weak and prone to lodging; yield is reduced. Readily visible deficiency symptoms vary among species. Some plants show marginal burning of leaves, speckled or mottled leaves, and leaf curling. These symptoms occur in older leaves and spread upward. Potassium is removed by plants, but is also prone to fixation and leaching especially soils low in organic matter or from soilles growing media.

Deficiency: Plant tissue formation is incomplete. The terminal bud may cease to grow, leaving a blunt end. Visible clues are defective terminal bud development. The margins of young leaves may not form, resulting in strap leaves. Roots grow poorly and are short and thickened.

Deficiency: First signs are in older leaves. Large amounts of potassium ions may interfere with its uptake due to ion antagonism. To prevent ion antagonism/competition between Mg and K a ration of K to Mg in the growth medium is about 3:1 to 4:1.
