I'm not sure how you guys are proposing to recategorize them?  Maybe I missed something. :confused:

If they aren't organized by Levels, then by what?

OMR - I'd help you with a couple. What categories we shooting for? I'm thinking categorizing by drug, with sub-cat of level? How are they organized now?

Well first off I think it should be by substance, not by "level." Separate sections for DMT, LSD, Psilocybin, various research chemicals, etc. Boy it seems like a big project. I'm kind of curious..

Ythan: How visited is the Trip Reports section of the Shroomery (the documents I mean, not the Trip Reports forum) in comparison with the rest of the site? Is it used a lot?

And if not I wonder if people would use it more if it were organized a bit more like Erowid's.

Ah yes Erowid has a more useful format, with the different 'types' of experience (Trainwrecks, First times, etc).  It sure would take a shitload of reading to redo it though.  I could definitely go through a few of them, but not hundreds.

yeah maybe:


          substance
              |
              V
          Type of trip  (IE: Solo/Group, In Nature/In city, etc...)
              |
              V
        then dosage, & weight of person


This would eliminate the personal experience aspect of the dosage.
We should also do something to standardize the trip report.  Instead of having just a jumbled mass of writing, we should have a form.  IE:


Substance:

Time of Day:

Weight of Person:

Dosage:

Effects Felt:

Narative:




And then, we could just delete all the trip reports we have, and make people go back and redo them.  Then, we wouldn't have to reorganize. :lol:

i could help, i've got really good organisational skills as long as it's not my own stuff. ie: my desk and room are a disater. but when it come to dividing my skittles by colour and number of said colour before i eat them, no matter how long it takes then i'm good. :laugh:

but, i'm lazy. when would you be attempting this? that's a hell of a lot of reports to organise.

I don't think there should be a time limit, or anything like that. This is a volunteer project, after all.

Cool. I've posted in the mod forum seeing what all the admins think about it and what not. I've only toyed with the CMS ever so slightly so I don't know if new categories would have to be created by the powers-that-be or if we would be able to.

hrm, i might be down. had this come up a few months ago i would have had endless amounts of free time to sit and tinker with it, but i'm on the hunt for a job. the place i applied still hasn't called, i was hoping it would be today, but it's not looking so good. if they don't call today i need to call them tomorrow. looking for a job is like the hardest job in the world, it's just too bad i can't get paid for it. =\
