I had been visiting The Shroomery for 4 months before I came across the Glossary and such. Like the conversion calculater.

I completely agree with you, too many documents fall beneath all of the other stuff we have here. Besides moving all of the links to the main page, does anybody have any ideas on how to remedy it? Later.

You could add a beginners or newbies tab to the side. Or something to that effect. Unfortunatly most people like myself go straight to grow/find section when they first come to the shroomery. Or perhaps put a link inside of grow/find called 'intro' wich could point to the very basic information.

Perhaps people should put together 'A newbie pack' which installs onto a HD some basic texts which are easily accessed locally rather than staying on here and going for immediate gold.

We do have the General Info section which is the first tab on the left, which could be filled with whatever general/newbie info that you guys deemed worthy. The idea has also been brought up before to create a CD that contained a snapshot of the shroomery when it was created, however this would take a bit of work to create a working version. Let me know which documents you'd like to see in the General Info section and if you think that the CD idea might fly. Later.

The CD idea *might* fly, I'm just concerned that people may overlook it as by our own unfortunate nature we are impatient at the best of times and this is usually the greatest problem and the reason that the 'newbie pack' should possibly be in existance.

But. But I think that if you offered a CD, then you'd pretty much have most of people on here ordering atleast one. It may not go to the most needy people (ie newbies) but it will sell and it might raise you a little revenue.

I suggest you post a message in the General questions forum asking whether people would buy the cd. Or even a vote box on the front page.

It had been brought up in the past to make a CD with the contents of the Shroomery on it. As with all ideas, it was soon forgotten. Would there be significant interest in it?

As I said, probably - if putting a vote box is simple then try it.. that way you can get a general idea of what people think about it. You might consider making it an annual thing.. sort of a personal hardcopy of the years progression.
