edit...i checked out the links, and I'm sorry. that is more disturbing than the scat-pr0n type of offensive I expected. That's pretty bad. Nevertheless, I am still happy not to miss an opportunity for a Zero-Wing reference.

I've never understood this blasphemous disregard for other creatures. What's so great about humans that their suffering deserves to be acknowledged whereas animals' not? The fact of the matter is that if you were a human in a torturous scenario you'd be feeling a lot of pain, and if you were an animal in a torturous scenario, you'd be feeling a lot of pain. I dunno about you, but I'm very against putting other beings through torture. What's the difference between an animal going through pain and a human? The fact that they don't scream as loud because they don't have human vocal chords?

Yeah, crush video is one of the most offensive things I can think of.  I've specifically not subjected myself to it because the thought alone makes me ill.  Stumbled across some stills once (OK, I admit it, I accidentally wandered through OTD one day :smirk: ) and that was enough to satisfy any dark curiosity I might have.

I can usually recognize when someones just trying to get peoples goat and when they sincerely think animals being tortured is funny and/or amusing.

I used to assume everyone was like you...but posting on a few webforums has taught me that NO....people want to take things seriously, simply so they can voice their opinions and take out their anger on someone.

it is different, i have never been to China but my girlfriend has and she has seen live kittens in markets being sold to be eaten. not very often, but she has seen it. she is chinese and i am very pro asian so i'm not trying to make them look bad. in that situation it is almost like seeing that happen to a chicken to americans. believe me i am not defending it one bit, that is one of the most disturbing things i have ever seen and i would flip out if anyone ever hurt any of my 3 cats, but the cultures are different. it is still horrible to do that for sheer profit, not even to eat the cat.
