SOS tek/ jiffy mix Q

AF birthed 5 cakes that werent fully colonized yet two days ago.....today he went to look at them and they were full of pure white fluffy myco over 75 percent of the trays..he cased them today with jiffy mix...im just wondering if he should have sterilized the mix. he did originally try this in the micro wave but started a fire..so in haste(and because the sea of shrooms tek doesnt mention sterliztion at all) he cased and misted....would misting with a low low bleach or h202 soulution at this point help ward of contams??

......UPDATE....its now been two days since cased and all he can see is white fluff coming through the caseing...should he be ok now? He barely covered the crumbled cakes w/ the jiffy mix because thats what he read in the other teks is that enough? the tek says "suitable amount".....hes for sure all his effort so far has been a waste...he guesses everybody goes through this their first time....how long should he expect to see the first pins??

I believe in the SOS tek it says you can use a h2o2 solution when putting together the casing. And as far as I know, yes, a h2o2 solution would help ward off contaminations.
