yeahh, passiflora is really easy to grow...

i use very often an extraction of passiflora instead of other MAOIs.
it is really a good substitute!

i never used Caapi so i can´t make any comparison.
the only thing i heard is that Passiflora is smoother than other MaoIs.

i used passiflora and shrooms for the first time a few weeks ago.it fucked me up.the trip was the heaviest one i´ve ever gotten.i became nauseous and i couldn´t breathe anymore.i saw only bad things like demons and other ill things...
But nevertheless the trip became very spiritual and i was very suprized what came after the horror visions after some time and i could normally breathe again.
it was the most mystical trip i´ve ever experienced but i wouldn´t recommend anyone combining these 2 substances together.

i´m an experienced psychonaut and i was aware of the risks using MAOIs with shrooms but i thought i could control the trip in a way.i was totally wrong.i think i won´t use them together again.

so when you make a passiflora extraction...do you use leaves, flower, vine, and fuirt? or just one...? Do you make a water extraction or alcohol? Do you use fresh material or dried? About how much (weight) would you estimate you use?

i use dried plant material i.e. leaves and vine...
i make an alc extract-i think a water extract won´t work,but i don´t know.
i used 5 grams dried material in a strong Everclear.

i really don´t know all the passiflora species but a lot of them don´t contain any MAO inhibiting substances.

The best way to differentiate is the flowers (like most plants), some are quite similiar but some are quite different u should b able to work out what one u have got. Check out erowid for pics.

MAOI's are suspected in most Passiflora.

caerulea (stinky passionflower) is to b avoided.

Most passiflora contain cyanide so use caution.

passion flower grows wild everywhere where I live, but they also contain poison so I wouldn't use it. The flowers are amazingly spectacular. They are best to propagate from seeds in the fruit, and do not transplant well. I killed one really nice one trying to dig it up from the wild and put it in a pot, it hated that. Does anyone know about the difference between the chemicals in caapi and the chemicals in passiflora; Has anybody used them at the same time?.....and is the poison really dangerous? i think not....

the maoi concentration in passionflower is going to be a lot less than that of caapi, so you'd need a strong passionflower extract to be able to use it effectively imo

yes i understand that...my idea is to use mostly caapi and some passiflora, just enough to "color"(enhance) the experience with the unique passiflora chemicals.

From what I've found Passiflora incarnata has harman, hamine, harmaline, harmol, and harmalol, I dont think there is a major difference but it is lacking probly the most interesing Beta carboline tetrahydroharmine. U may have a slighty different experience though I dont know.

Cyanogenic glucosides are deadly, Im sure u've heard of cyanide (deadly chemical only trace amounts are needed to kill), caerulea contains fairly high levels & should b avoided, most contain cyanide so use caution.

Does incarnata have no unique chemicals caapi does not have?

Do you think the levels in INCARNATA are anything to worry about? If they are...what should I do about them?
