Nice growing you got there but maybe you´re exaggerating on the 400W MH, look how yellow and small leafed they are.

the ones in the gray pots are like 5 gal and they are rootbound
like a motha i mean theres like barley any soil just root lol and they are like bark, they have stunted dramatically because of this. i need to transplant them into something but i dont know what. i was thinking like drilling holes in the bottem of a 18 gal tote.

i mist once when i water once the light turns on, dont water at night or it will promote mold, and let them dry out untill they are almost starting to wilt but dont let them wilt or that will stress them and set back growth, they really like that. they are about 3 feet awayt from the lighgt and are recieving 500 nanometers of light which is perfect for growth ive found, as you can see the bigger ones are a little bit closer to the light and there is slight yellowing, that starts to happen at around 800 nanometers.
this 400 watt can signifagantly light up a 6X6 space including lower branches which FLOURESENTS WILL NOT. i would need then directly on the leaves all around each plant and they only put out 250 nanometers and it only reaches 2inches before it starts to fade

i hear this alot and i could write a at least a 50 page book on why im using HID instead of flouresent. seriously ive went to school for horticultre and starting botony i dont play. ive been growing sally indoor for about 2 years now and the 1st was with flouresent and they did f in horrible the lower leaves and branches were dieing they were skinny and lanlky mostly stem no leaf cause they all died from lack of light. the best thing ive ever done was put these under HID.:borat:

ya mother plants look like they are hurting bad... infact they all look as if they are suffering from too much light exposure...
definate over kill on the lighting id say... and bigger pots would be good...

HID for salvia is a waste of resources, salvia needs very little light to grow very well. its not cannabis.

no, ive been busy growing nice healthy salvia plants such as these.




dont be a dick. its just advice man... its quite clear to me that your plants are recieving far too much light.
hence... stunted growth, yellowing leaves and reduced leaf size...

those look nice, how old are they?

its only on the big ones, the other ones have large  green leaves, and they grow like crazy

like these here are very nice and large and green those leaves are as big or bigger than my hand

an im not tryin to be a dick, its just that in my experiance they did very bad under flouresents and when they were put under this i seen a clear change in growth, and i was able to reproduce more alot quicker, this is what i have found , so dont think i dont appreciate your advice cause i do:borat:

yeah well i was talking about the mother plants...

im willing to bet that those clones are not so close to the light... and they have a lid full of condensation over the top to diffuse the light... thats why they look good and the mothers dont.

the mothers look fine. they are pretty big and im sure have given off tons of clone babies, what else is there for them to do?

hard to keep 3 ft tall plants in a little aquarium/rubbermaid.

i agree though they could probably benefit with a little shade cloth or move further from the lights. all in all it looks good id say your ahead of the game
