 Loop thinking vs. Acid thinking

This started out as a response to a post but the thread was played out so here goes:
In my limited experience with mushroom trips (20 or so times) I have experienced Loop thinking every time. However I have never experienced that on LSD or mescaline (lets say 100-200 trips). As a matter of fact LSD is more on the order of run on thinking where you analyze every thought on every possible plane and you feel as though you can analyze the world! It is just the opposite of loop thinking!
Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

Ohh you can get into a loop and when you do I would say they are ten times worse then on shrooms especially at the peak.

Yes, if you take enough acid the loops at the peak are intense ...

I'm pretty sure mind loops are when you get locked into a thought, usually a negative one that just snowballs and starts to creep you out. I'd had some pleasant mind loops though, and some minor negative ones.

Yes a loop is like what sheepish is describing. Kind of like being locked into a pattern of negativity. It will make time crawl to a stop and you can almost feel this negativity for an eternity. Its the feeling that makes you think you will be trapped in this trip forever. Its hard to describe to someone that has never experienced one but they are very intense and scary.

yes but I get locked into positive loops or (repeatative thoughts) Too. The best way I can describe it is when you hear a song and you keep singing the words over and over in your head.

Ive had loop thoughts but not on LSD or shrooms. Twice on weed I had this happen. In my mind I could have a - thought and then a + one. I could not have 2 postive thoughts in a row, it doesnt really make sense but it sucked.

I've had loops on cid, and mushies. Both positive and negative loops. A loop for me is when my thinking keeps on going around and back to the same idea. Even when I might get on to an entirely different subject, it'll relate to this one thing over and over again. I think they can be fun, as long as the idea you're thinking about isn't scary or depressing.

Is this a loop? I ate about 4.5 grams of some good cubies my first trip.Me and my freind ate the same amount and my brother ate just a little.We ate them and then went to the carnival which was crazy The movies were hologhraphic and the air had a fuzz to it.My arms were all long and fat and pink.We left the video store and m y freind saw someone getting pulled over. I was wearing a button up shirt and was looking like a crazy little kid(apparently my facial expressions and my constant "look at this" turned me into a little kid). My freind said "man if you get me arrested whyle trippin my balls off im gonna kick your fuckin ass" I started freaking out because my brother was driving kinda funny and I kept thinking I was gonna get pulled over and arrested. I thought I was gonna just bail out of the car and runI got home and kept getting up and hearing sirens. I did not know where they were and I kept thinking I and my freind were going to jail. I then accepted it and started thinking I dident care because I would stay this way and jail would last like 2 days. It all dident matter cause I was tripping hard and I was stuck this way. I was now telling myself this.I looked at my legs and the middle of them moved over a foot and my legs were all bent up I then started seeing faces that I knew of freinds and then of me. We all were the same person and I morphed from freind to freind asking my buddys where these people were. I thought I could flow into objects and we were one. I tryed to bite a glass ashtray to see if it would melt in my mouth. The whole trip was hgorrid for my freind. I kept asking him questions because he had tripped shrooms before and he was all like "just be your own person" "Im just gonna go do my thing and you do yours" Thsi is definately not somthing you say to someone on shrooms. It seemed as If I was tripping forever and I kept burying my head in a pillow.Time did not matter. This was strange is this kind some sort of loop?

I'm not sure if that is truely a loop, I think if any one of the many thoughts that you described got stuck in your head for an extended period of time, that would be a loop!
