image editing program?

I want to make a collage type thing with images and i need to be able to edit different images together, shrink them, stretch them, cut them up etc.

any good programs i can do it with?

i might just download photoshop but I'm not sure it looks a little complicated.

Basic photoshop is easy. Put each picture on it's own layer and do whatever you want to it.
