i used to run milkdrop with my wiamp and but my background a...damn i forget the word...but anyway my desktop was like yours...but constantly moving....i got rid of it tho cause i play to many games and it gets annoying cutitng it off all the time. Its a fun novelty tho.

yup, running xp - although I dual-boot linux.

here's a new shot - complete with easter island heads, an alien giving a gorilla a human baby, Sumerian alien face, and a pyramid :thumbup:  I was on a zacharius stitchen kick the other night.

also, my new desktop toy: Yz Dock. It basically emulates the badass OSX icon dock thing. I posed the link to the free dl over in science forum - I recommend it. I found those transparent tribal orb icons somewhere & thought they looked sweet.

Right the fuck on. I gave my desktop a makeover, and tried that dock toy thing, and i love it!
here?s a pic of it on the right side, I have it set so that it pops out when I hover my cursor over it..

Btw, where did you get that calendar?? Is it skinnable?
Because I?ve been trying to find JUST a calendar that is skinnable and looks cool, damnit. the one you see in the pic below, I made myself, with beatnik, but I want an actual calender with the month?s days and so on. It?s being a bitch to find something to work with. =

Funky, I use Windowblinds...I?m on the NeoTao skin. My fav skin. goes well with my yin yang cursor. :cool:

yeah, samurize is good. I also recommend:

www.geoshell.com
www.litestep.net

I personally use www.astonshell.com - it runs real light & is pretty customizable (the new A 2.0 should be sometime soon - it'll be very customizable because it'll all be plugins).

I really did not like Windowblinds - seemed to be a resource hog. Just never really clicked with what I wanted to do. But lots of other people have had great luck with it.

Samurize, its the system status boxes on the right. I've been really busy lately and spent time to really do it. I spent about 10 minutes doing it.

I think the latest version of samurize is 1.20. I'm still using like .27.

It's just a button on your keyboard next called "PrintScrn" it should be next to "Scroll Lock".

Hit it, and then open up whatever image-editing program you have, and hit CTRL V or right-click and select paste..and save it as a jpeg. And voila.

I used to use Litestep, it's a great program. Gets rid of all the shit you don't need and makes things look nice and clean.

I used to have a Steal Your Face 'my computer' desktop icon, a dancing bear for a sand clock(fuck, I can't think of the name) and there was some other icons I can't think of right now, maybe the 'Blues for Allah' album cover. But, luck may have it my computer took a big dive a couple months back and I have no clue where I found them at anymore.

I have this on a black background. Cant seem to get screen print to work, anyway its a painting by Bob Thomas.
Mr. Owsley says "Here is a large painting Bob did as part of a series of paintings based on the Authurian Legend (the ancient name Arthur is a form of "artos"= bear). This particular painting is hanging in Susan Wickersham's office at Alembic. Bob painted the picture over the course of three or four weekends in 1965, and took acid before beginning each session. This was the legend of the Red Dragon and the White Dragon fighting in a subterranean lake. It was the vibrations of the magical struggle which was the cause of difficulties in constructing a tower on the spot. Merlin was called in and determined the cause of the problem.
The swirls of color Bob used in the Dragons have this almost sinuous look to them. Bits of color here and there. Swirls of red, blue, black and gold. When you look at it, you think: This is strange, it seems sort of messy... but if you take acid and look at the painting again you see all these highly complex patterns melt into each other. Magnificent shit. He had painted all the visual clues that you needed for that particular pattern set. All these odd looking smears and swirls were all meaningful. It was a composition in itself. All you had to do was take some psychedelics, and when you gazed at the painting, you would always see the same patterns. With any other normal painting you might experience while on acid, the patterns would vary. You would see certain patterns one time, next time you took acid, it wouldn't be the same patterns. But Bob knew how to "fix" the patterns so your mind would create the same visual patterns each and every time, as part of the painting's artistic statement.

I updated mine for the umpteenth time with the calendar and all; I changed the font and position, made it smaller and more symmetrical and alla that jazz:

I use Windowblinds-NeoTao skin
Icon Packager...which makes my Recycle bin looks like it does and other stuff,
Systemetrix which provides me with the lovely clock..
all of which can be found at the neat awesome lil site called wincustomize.com
oh and of course yzdock..

at the moment I'm trying to get rid of those gay ass words that say "recycle bin".
I dont neeeeed those words. I want them gone damnit.
I must find out how to do this trickery.
Would you happen to know how?

Start - Run - Regedit - Edit/Search - "recycle bin" - Look for one that says (standard) with the value "recycle bin" and beneath it one called "info tip".

Recycle bin changes name of just that
Info tip changes what's stated if you keep your mouse over the recycle bin.

I've never tried this, just translating directly from where I found it.

Fuck it, I aint messin with the registry besides it wouldnt work and I even tried search on it, fuck it fuck it fuck it. what I ended up doing instead, was downloading tweak ui, a cool free proggy you can get from microsoft.com, and just deleting the reycycle bin from the desktop...so it's more cleeanerish and minimalist which is what I'm going for..
