Randi Million Dollar Challenger Fails Miserably

Mike Maggio, Spirit Reader

Recently, Mike Maggio went on Japanese television in front of a live audience to communicate with spirits and divine the contents of 20 different envelopes - each of which contained a different symbol. Maggio had a list of the different symbols in advance.

Maggio was only able to properly determine the contents of one envelope (which is exactly the number that chance predicts).

Maggio conducted himself very well, and did not offer any excuses for the failure. He does, however, remain convinced of his abilities, and will apply for the challenge again in one year.


Shmoopy notes: Why not take the challenge again in a year? The negative publicity generated by failure will be explained away by the True Believers and Maggio will get another 'free roll' at the million.
