They're essentially the same organism, only from different regions. Same for Ganoderma oregonese. Compare them to apples or oranges from various parts of the world. All have similar vitamins and minerals.

Hey man! Great to see you back! Is it warm enough to grow some mushrooms up there yet?

If you go to www.pubmed.com and type Ganoderma tsugae in the search engine, you'll come up with lots of journal articles. Here are some I found on Google though, here's some reading for you;

Effects of Triterpenoid-Rich Extracts of Ganoderma tsugae on Airway Hyperreactivity and Th2 Responses in vivo

man there's lot's more out there. Also maybe try Christopher Hobbs website http://www.christopherhobbs.com/ he wrote a really good book on medicinal uses of mushrooms. maybe ask him via e-mail or something...

Also like Roger says, the species is basically indistinguishable from G. lucidum so you can probably use all the same research articles for that too...

JD

Phew, I was waiting for replies for this topic. I found some mushies that looked like G. lucidum, and I thought they were (I dehydrated and ground up and everything) only to realize that the mulch they were growing out of was PINE, not hardwood. I realized it must have been a G. Tsugae, so I didn't know if they were safe or not... thanks for clearing it up!

I'm in need of a sterile sporeprint, if anyone wants to do a trade for some seeds or something, or maybe just for free if you have a lot of them............. i'd really appreciate it :mushroom2:

Thanks a lot Guys

What a job you do Jeremy! Congradulation.
This time compare to me slaves are in vacation.
Yes, mushrooms grows since may. I have a serious problem. The demand for my shrooms is to big. I miss mushrooms.

PS. For the people who adopt a trench technic, don't forget to make a cover to protec your shrooms from to much water from the rain to keep the quality.

Good luck to all of you

I congratulate you on your problem sir.

But seriously though, if you can think of ways that we can help you ramp up production, we're all here to help...

Last I saw though, you built a rather large growing area, kinda barn type structure, are you growing in there?

Do you have an employee, or can your operation afford to hire one, even part time?

Thanks for your generosity Jeremy, but as I have only 4.5 months of natural grows per year I start my cultures in winter for summer. As it takes at least 45 to 60 days to get the shrooms I have to predict how much shrooms consumers will buy. So I do grow 250% more shromms this year than last year, but should be 400%, so miss shrooms. Its to late thinking starting cultures again at this time of the year. BTW I do not use gypsum anymore and could never found limestone. I now do use woodstove ash and eggs shells in multiple purpose in my mush cultures. Results are better than ever.

Last I saw though, you built a rather large growing area, kinda barn type structure, are you growing in there? Yes around only 500 blocks, thinking making few other levels inside, got to check the ligthing in this case.

Do you have an employee, or can your operation afford to hire one, even part time?No I do not have but I really nead one.
Have a nice day and be happy

Light and Love,
JD

Interesting...can you tell us more about the uses of the wood stove ash and egg shells? Do you just use ash from a wood stove? How do you get the egg shells, and how is it all used?

So man, that's crazy about your scheduling. That's really just what a traditional crop farmer would do. You've got to have a crystal ball in some sense, to judge what the market will bear months down the line.

You know, it's a great education for you though. And at the same time, it is good to grow the business organically, and not jump production up by too big of a percentage at any one time...your business will grow just like the mushrooms. You are incubating the business in these early years. At least that's my impression...

are you close to B.C.? I've always wanted to go there...

Keep smiling brother!

Hi Jeremy

I work 14 to 16 hours a day on 2 jobs. I regrett it would take to much time for me to well respond to these questions. There are probably people here (like Mr. Rabbitt) who could answer for all the possible purpose of the woodstove ash and egg shells in mushroom cultures?

No I live about 2500 miles from BC. Its probably shorter for me to go to Florida!!

Have a nice day and keep enjoying life

From your posts, it sounds like Northern Quebec as well. I used to have a g/f in Kapaskasing in northern Ontario, so you probably know where that is. I used to drive up there twice a month when I lived in Northen Minnesota. I even started to learn French at the time. There's a lot more French speakers than English in that area.

Respect man, that's a lot of hard work. I can do my own research. No problem at all!

Well, when you make it down to Florida, bring your bathing suit and look me up man!

Sure don't worry, if I ever have the chance to go see you, I'll bring it. I swim like a fish, I did fluently in the Caraibes and Center America where I learned Spanish.

Have a nice life
