Only a few shrooms, skinnys and cracking caps. Diagnosis anyone? *PICS*

So I've been getting a few shrooms here and there, but no really good or constant pinsets, just onesys and twoseys here and there. They're really small, break their veil very soon. I also noticed that this one's cap was split.
Anyone care to comment or diagnose my problem.
I think that they may be waterlogged. I believe that I put too much verm on them, and that maybe I misted them too much before they started to pin.
My FAE is set to come on every 3 hours for 15 minutes at a time(15 min is the shortest duration available on my timer). However, I don't have an 'outlet' per se, except for where the air escapes at the top of the FC, should I maybe make a few holes to allow for venting when the FAE comes on? If so in what location and how big?
I tried to change the name of my original post so I could just update it, but it wouldn't work. Here's the background info...

cracking caps is a sign of low humidity...whats your humidity?
also if you dont have a vent for the old air to escape then the introduction of fresh air is going to be limited i would drill(or should i say rr)holes on all sides of the terrarium about 2-3 inches apart that way when your fae comes on it can push out of the holes also with the perlite in there it evaporates and moves the old air out (or something like that)also you cant have too much verm on the cakes lol but you can mist em too much which would damage pinheads/primordia.

My RH runs at 99%, drops down to 86 by the end of a 15 min FAE cycle, then back up to 99% within 10 minutes...
I just added 3 1/4'' holes to allow some air to drain.

where is your hygrometer placed? i would place it just a little above the cakes to get a fairly good reading cuz if you have it near the perlite of course it's ganna be 100% or close humidity there lol.other than that you should be gravy.oh how long have they been in the fc?

I have a remote sensor placed about an inch above the perlite. I'll move it up a little and see what it says.

They've been in the FC from between 5 to 9 days, they were birthed at different times.

OK i am curious to see if the hygrometer changes at all.....i would give it till 14(days), i am pretty sure by then you will see some good results it looks like your cakes right now are forming more pins/Primordia(hard to tell without close ups hint! lol)

ok from those pics i can barely tell that they are just barely forming primordia you should have noticeable pins within a week maybe less,this is seriously the hardest part i hate waiting lol i am at the same point you are other than i have a 6quart tub cased waiting to fruit lol.you might want to check out(search) for terrarium under the name of RogerRabbit look for his terrarium it's the same one i use and is very good at Fae/humidity and could be beneficial for ya(almost the same setup you have)

I just did a 10 minute FAE run, and the RH is back up to 99% in less than 10 minutes. This is after adding 1/4" air drain holes.
Should I keep misting them to keep the verm layer damp?
So, no reason for the skinny little shrooms I'm getting?
I've gotten about 5 already, they grow pretty skinny, then break their veil within a day. Pretty miniscule fruit for all this labor.

i woudlnt mist em anymore since they are already damp and the humidity in the fc should be 100% that alone will keep the verm damp,when misting you can damage pin heads while in this stage.

is this your first grow? if is is, ditch the cakes when they're done man man... get some WBS and hpoo and do bulk tubs, you'll get huge fruits that are extremely potent FOR SURE with the amount of work I can see you put into this project. I promise it would be well worth your time.

as for your situation right now, I'd try and and get some holes in you tub... I remember RR saying he has hundreds of tiny holes in his FC for FAE, personally I thought cakes were a waste of time and now do tubs, so I don't know about FCs. Your setup looks good except for holes though, perlite alone should keep rH high enough, even with holes, and the fact that you know it's at 99 a good amount of time is good.

potency is based on genetics not brf vs manure crap
also cakes are wonderful to start on since they are pretty cake (lol)

I got my hygrometer at petsmart. It's a reptile hygrometer. I found it above the Coir, lol. It was about 28 bucks if I remember right. It's an EXO-TERRA brand. www.exo-terra.com

I put 3 RR style holes in the FC. Since I have a forced induction FAE mechanism, I figure that's enough to allow the air inside to vent when it cycles on. It has to be better than having it be forced to come out where the lid seals. Still nothing new with the cakes...
