Tob be Pedro or not to be Pedro...That is the ques

I have a problem....I bought what is supposed to be a San Pedro (T. Pachanoi). The label says San Pedro for the common name but for it's species it says
T. Spachianus. Obvioulsy they can't both be right. Every picture I have looked at of San Pedros and the Spachianus leads me to believe that I do indeed have a Pedro. The Spachianus have long spines while the Pedros have almost no spines on their areole. (My cactus has no spines like the Pedro) Am ijust wishful thinking or do I have a Pedro. How can I be sure of what I have. If I do have a Spachianus can I still "Go Travelling" with it? Thanks for any and all help. Chemkid

Cacti are often mislabeled...especially at places like Home Depot.

My adfice would be to look at lots of pics, and if you beliegve it's San Pedro...it probably is.

If it's not, I'll send you a few San Pedro seeds myself.

Thanks for the advice. My gut instinct is that it is a Pedro. I have looked at tons of pics. and it all seems right. Just wanted some affirmation. By the way....any favorite recipes to consume it??

thas a good question,, I tried raw, and boiled to a shot,, both were horrible.
