pedro / shroom crossbreed....what is this (PIC)
    #780305 -

I know it?s not really a cross breed but thought it seemed amusing. Anyway I was watering my pedro today and came across this. Does anyone have any idea what the hell it is? I grow my mushies near by and thought maybe some spores got airborn or something but it isn?t fleshy like a shroom it seems almost like an alf alfa sprout. If by some weird stroke of luck it is a mutant shroom will the pedro and and "it" hurt each other. I didn?t think anything else would really thrive in the pot with the pedro due to the special cactus fert. I use. Any ideas would be helpful.

if a mushrooms grows in your pedro's pot then you probably are watering the cactus too much and too frequently...just a tougth

Hm... I was thinking I was going to see a Lemon Lepiota(they're common w/ potted plants)... But I dunno what that little fucker is, take a pic when the cap opens up.

Club is right... If you're watering enough for a mushroom to be growing then you may be watering too much.

Like I said....I don't believe it is a shroom although it is shaped like one. The texture isn't like a mushy. Believe me I am definitely not overwatering my pedro. Do you guys know if there is anything else that has that same basic shape but isn't a mushroom? I guess I'll just let it grow and grow until we can see what it really is.

No it really was growing in my pedro pot. I still stick by the fact that I don't think it is a mushy. Besides it died yesterday and when I picked it out of the pot it had roots......shrooms don't root!!!!! (at least not to my knowledge)

Do you still have it? Can you post a pic?

You can end up with small, almost root-like mycelium networks.

It may look like a button mushroom right now, but wait until you see how it grows!

No I don't have it anymore...I tossed it. That was really weird. I am thinking that something got airborn whether it be sprouts, mushies or what ever. It was ver short lived though.

a friend of mine spawned a bid box filled with dung and straw.
he didnt know so much what he is doing and he gave them air exchange and light.
the mycelium grew wierd looking, very thin and stringi. then it produced TINY alfalfa lookin fruits.
i think what u have there is just a shroom with a poor mycelium that dosnt give it what it needs.

thats pretty obviously not a mushroom cap...but rather a seed that was growing upside down and lifting its self up? anyone else agree?
