Trying to Name my Kitten...

So, I think we've failed at fostering for the 1st time. I think we're going to keep the kitten that is still here with us - as my other thread said, the other 9 have already gone to homes. I purposely did not adopt her out, even though people inquired about her, because I wanted to see how she did with our dogs and our other cat Maximus when it was just her left here. She's been great - Max really seems to like her, and she loves the dogs. She's a feisty little girl - if you don't pay enough attention to her, she'll climb up your pant leg, climb up onto your chest, and paw at your face to remind you to pet her. Sometimes she love bites to get our attention - she's really funny. Right now she is attacking Lucy and Molly while they sleep, and jumping on their backs to try to wake them up to play with her.

We have made a vet appointment for her Monday morning because I think she has a bit of a cold - she's been sneezing a little bit. It's probably nothing, but where she's so tiny and young I'd rather play it safe.

So, here are some of the names we are thinking of. I guess I'll make a poll with this, so people can vote. Right now her name is Hailey, which I don't dislike or anything, I just like some other names better. Our other cat is named Maximus, after the gladiator, and we named our other kitten that we tragically lost Commodus, to go with him. When Commodus died, we decided to adopt his twin brother, who right now is named Cheddar. Cheddar was supposed to arrive this week with the rest of the kitties, but got sick and couldn't come - so he should be here next week. I think we are renaming him Marcus, like Marcus Aurelius (Commodus's father). Or maybe Lucius, we'll see which suits him better when he gets here.

Anyways, here are the names that we like for her so far and are contemplating. I'm including some pictures of her in the bottom of the post, so you can give your opinion on what fits her.

Maia, the Roman goddess of growth - her name is derived from the month of May, which is when she was born. Maia would be nice, because all 3 kitties would have M names - Maximus, Marcus Cheddar (MC) and Maia. I then realized that this is Bom's kitties name, and I didn't want to copy her :frown:

Nemesis, In Greek mythology, Nemesis was the goddess of divine justice and vengeance. Her anger was seen as directed chiefly toward those guilty of arrogance (Hubris), particularly human arrogance towards the gods and their laws. Nemesis pursued the insolent and the wicked with inflexible vengeance. We've toyed with the idea of naming one of our ferrets nemesis in the past, so it would be cool to finally name an animal that.

Nyx, In greek mythology, Nyx was the primordial goddess of the night.

Helen, the face that launched 1,000 ships in greek mythology.

Linea, (pronounced Lynn-ay-ah....we may spell it differently than Linea) this doesn't really fit our Roman/Greek name theme, but we like it. We both love the show stargate Sg-1, and there is a character on the show named Linea, who is known as "the destroyer of worlds" - I think it's a pretty name, and sort of funny!

Vala, is another Stargate character - it means "chosen one". In the show, Vala is a beautiful woman with jet black hair, who is always up to something mischievous. Seems to fit our little girl well.

Harmony, or Harmonia, in greek mythology is the immortal goddess of harmony and concord.

Luna, is the roman goddess of the moon.

If anyone finds any other nice names, please feel free to suggest them. I keep calling her Hailey, and when I made her vet appointment today, I made it under the name Linea, but we're still very up in the air about it. Here are the pictures....
