OP, well, I believe in Greek mythology, or at least I believe that what Homer and Hesiod wrote ...make sense to me, and I can believe it. Moreover, I'm a so called “hard polytheist” ; it means that I believe that the gods are separate, conscious entities in Their own right, rather than merely aspects of a single God/dess, or archetypes inside the human brain, without connections with objective reality...But it's a long (and boring) story...
Anyway I believe that any mythology “make sense” ...at least because it explain many customs and traditions that we follow even without realizing it. I will give you 2 examples:
Some time ago, I was having lunch with a friend of mine (who is from the Philippines). And he asked me: “why the Italians (I am Italian) when they eat meat, they reject and don't eat the fat?We think that it's the most tasty part”. After much reflection, I cannot give a better answer that: “Because in the ancient times, in all Mediterranean area, the fat was the part of the meat which was offered to the gods”.
I live near Florence. In Florence, there is an old statue of a wild boar. And it is an old tradition for the people, touching it and often leaves a coin believing that it will lead wealth, but no one (or at least no one that I know), was able to explain me why this custom or how it was born . Anyway it is a really old tradition to do it.
I believe that the explanation is in the Norse mythology. The Norse god of wealth ( Freyr) ride a wild boar, right? The coins leaves at that statue, are in fact an offer to that god...When the people seen the statue, they remembered -in a vague way - something ( well, a lot of populations whit Germanic roots went here, as the Langobards, or the Ostrogoths ), and acted .....
People do it, (I can give other examples) and believe to be – for example- christians or atheist. But in fact they are wrong: they act as pagans ...Now, it's really so weird to worship consciously the gods who are worshiped unconsciously in many daily actions?
History and mythology, at least, teach us why we do what we do...

I downloaded it and I can't even get past the first scene. This witch says all 3 guys have to come over to her but when I bring them all over she still says that.
