I despise Ticketmaster's TicketFast (Print your own tickets) feature.

And I'll tell you why.

They want to charge me $2.50 to save them the hassle of having to print a ticket, put it in an envelope along with a receipt, and send it to me. They want to charge ME to make THEIR life easier. And then, this is the part that really gets me -

Have you ever paid attention to the ticketfast thing? 1/3 of the page is your ticket, and the other 2/3 are fucking advertisements. Ticketmaster is just amazing at screwing you out of as much money as possible and making as much money as they can off advertising. It's truly amazing.

They should have it included in the price to begin with. Or charge more for their ad space. I hate agreeing to a price and then getting stuck with extra fees.

When I bought my ticket to Roger Waters the fees came out to 20 dollars. 20 dollars on TOP of the 80-something ticket price. I mean - holy fucking shit.

My girlfriend actually works for Ticketweb now - if you think Ticketweb is a competitor to Ticketmaster, that's only half-true. They're owned by the same conglomerate - IAC.

It was a 12 or 13 dollar ticket printing fee. Then shipping and handling.

Gotta love that - "ticket printing fee." Lemme tell you, I work in a box office two days a week, and "ticket printing" involves pressing a button.

And since my girlfriend works there I happen to know how much it costs them to print an individual ticket, and they're charging about 10 bucks too much.

Good points. It is load of shit to pay money to use your own ink to do their work for them. I never even thought about it. I guess you get so used to getting assfucked you don't even notice anymore. It's the refridgerator hum except it's really a corporate cock lodged in my ass.

I just bought two tickets to see Umphrey's McGee. The tix themselves were 20 dollars even, and I chose ticketfast... still, the total comes out to 67 bucks. Its madness!

HAH! you think thats bad? My $25 lawn seat ticket to Roger waters came out for 40 FUCKING DOLLARS!!! Thats "convenience fee" is 60% of the ticket price. WHat the Hell is that about. Why dont venues sell tickets through their own websites? it cant be that hard.

Ticketbastard has been screwing all of us for a while. I like the printing of tix out though. yeh they screw you but i have a nice collection going stored on my computer. So when i buy a tix at a certain venue i print one tic off and photoshop a second. I use the ticket that says sec. 102 row 20 to get in and i use the photoshoped ticket that says sec a row 2 to show the security guard on the floor to get close. I have so many dirrerent tix i have every combination possible to just cut and paste a real close ticket. works every time!!

The only people who don't know how badly TicketBastard fucks over music fans are those who don't go to concerts. Being charged to print your own ticket is pretty fucking ludicrious, especially as you pointed out --- your mostly printing their ads and some bullshit "fine print' you can barely read unless you have a real high quality printer.

Question -- does TicketMaster handle ticketing to sporting events? Do sports fans get screwed as much as music fans for watching a live performance of their favorite team?

I usually skip the extra bullshit by just going to the venue and buying a ticket before hand. It helps that I'm within walking distance of the venues I usually go to, though.

Yes, Ticketmaster has a monopoly over sporting events, at least MLB ones. Probably NBA and NFL too.
