I have this food dehydrator, but it uses some heat. The heat isn't noticeable - when you open the dehydrator while it's working, the air is maybe just a tiny bit noticeably warmer, and I was wondering if I can use it. I've heard that heat damages the psilocybin - but how much heat? I mean, if you can cook with shrooms, surely I can use this, right?

you are probably ok. My dehydrator has a temp setting. i set it at 95 and i am ok(no potency difference noted.)

It seems that the heat used when drying is less important then previously thought.

Try it out and let us know.

Once you break about 105, potency will decrease after a few hours. A short dose of high heat, as in when making tea, does no harm. This is all from personal tests when I lived in Holland.
