I love Bjork and was really looking forward to Volta but...

this album is a huge disappointment - lacks soul, spirit, originality and focus.

I've found it a struggle to listen to.

VOLTA has a large dork factor. Embrace your inner dork and you'll like it better.... Seriously though "Earth Intruders" has a definite Sugar Cubes vibe for me, so that was a fun, but unexpected twist like being reunited with an old flame.

I think "Wanderlust" is irresistable, musically and lyrically.
"I have lost my origin
and I don't want to find it again"....

"The Dull Flame of Desire" Can anyone tell me who this "Antony" is? I like what they did with this 19th century poem.

"Innocence"... I think the lyrics are soooo interesting. Maybe my favorite song from the album.

"Declare Independence".... again with the dork factor... I love the chants of "Higher! Higher!" after "Raise Your Flag!".... So innocent sounding for an anarchist song. Barney says "Overthrow your government. It doesn't love you."

The remainder of the songs haven't hooked me yet...
but I do always sit up for the Hitchcockian musicality of "vertebrae by vertebrae"....

I think just about anything would have been a dissappointment after MEDULLA, which was sheer genius from end to end.

It's the first single so I don't mind posting it.

Very shroomy lyrics, co-produced by Timbaland.
