Anyways i've heard most of the new album. The band has definately evolved. The drums are more brutal, the guitar work has improved a 100 fold. There's alot of guitar solos in this one. But Corey definately isn't screaming like he was on the Iowa cd, and the lyrics suck ass compared to previous efforts IMO.

Just thought i'd post about this, b/c normally slipknot gets blackballed with the "nu-metal" label. This album is definately a middle point between regular old slipknot off the self titled cd, and traditional metal.

Pulse of the Maggots (link above) definately rocks IMO. The progression of aggression in the begining is bad ass. But then you a song (Duality) that reflects their Wait and Bleed/ Left Behind, but its much poppier. It sounds like a growling spoken word poetry on the verse, and kinda like nickleback during the chorus. That's extremely dissappointing. From what i've heard though, its the only song like that, and no wonder its their single.

Any thoughts?
