Google Earth Satellites

I'm wondering how many people here have used google earth to see their field/s. If you haven't, get google earth for free. It fucking pwns. Zoom in on any field, maybe one you know, maybe one you want to know. Most resolutions are clear enough to see entrances, exits, paths roads ponds trees, nearby houses, barns and many other slow or non changing land features. I seriously suggest to any and everyone. Just doing a public service to n00bs, or potheads that have never thought of it. (I recently thought of it, and have had GE for 2 years now). Peace.

My favorites are weeping willows, which aren't really weeping at all. They're very wispy, witty and will dance in the breeze with you. Nothing like a tree that wants to dance with you. Although it doesn't like its thin limbs being pulled at all, it absolutely LOVES it when you walk through them, letting them gently slide over your face and shoulders. If you're naked, the willow considers it to be sex. It will orgasm on your mind and you will blow dream chunks into outer space. i think you're about 3 years late on the technology, but i'll give you a brownie point for pointing out an obvious use...only problem is that most heavily wooded/rural areas more than 20miles outside of a metropolitan area aren't of any useful resolution...at least where i'm from.

I've used google earth to scout my fields since I began hunting. It is really good for planning routes, points of interest, back-up planning (ways out incase your presence is detected).

I've even seen people locate fairy rings using google earth, in locations that would have proved difficult to find without it. I made a post a while back describing google earth (along with screenshots) and I posted a pic of my field, thinking there wasnt any identifying marks on the sat image. I completely overlooked the fact that each image has the exact cooridinates at the bottom. So that wasnt a good situation.

For the people who dont like 'downloading' shit, or just plain dont like installing programs, you get to view the same images using google maps. In essence, its the same as google earth, just without the resource heavy application in front of it. Both maps and earth use the internet for the images it displays.

I use both products quite a bit, and find them both very useful. I was looking into the wooded area's around my location and found a clearing right in the middle of nothing but untamed forest. The clearing was 3 miles deep into the woods with nothing else around it for a really long distance, and you could clearly see that there was some type of small structure in the middle of the clearing. Me and friend decided to try and find it, and he had a laptop with one of those usb gps devices, so we could stay on track, cause I'll admit, if it wouldnt have been for that thing we would still be lost. He'd open it up and check every so often and we finally reached it. There was a solid steel 'shed' built with huge "DANGER: Explosives" warning on each side of the shed. The steel plates used looked at least 1"1/2 thick, and the door had 4 huge fuckin locks on it. I mean some big ass locks, you would'nt understand unless you seen it.

It was an interesting journey with a strange find. All made possible by google.

If you look down below this topics "Related Threads", or use the Search function on this topic, you will find that somebody creates a topic about using satellite maps for mushroom hunting, at least a few times a year. So this topic has been discussed and rediscussed many times over.

Also, at least once a year we get somebody who talks about using night-vision goggles for hunting at night. It has already been talked about here many times.

Another topic that re-emerges more than several times a year, how to innoculted a field with shrooms. There is always someone who suggests going from cow patty to cow patty injecting it with spore syringes.. or the person who suggests going through the field with a water squirtbottle spraying all the dry patties.

Again, if you use the Related Topics and/or the Search function people would find dozens of related topics that have already been discussed.
